The list of pre-selected Fernando Santos for the World Cup in Qatar is already known. There are 55 players and the document was sent to FIFA by the Portuguese Football Federation on Friday. There are many new faces, but the list, revealed by Correio da Manhãit will still take a big cut.
Wolverhampton is the most represented club, with seven players. FC Porto and Sporting each have five shortlisted teams, while Benfica has four players.

It is still far from being the definitive list, but it allows us to understand the paths that Fernando Santos will follow. Of the 55 names that are now known, more than half will be crossed out until the final list of 26 chosen.
In this large group, we highlight two youngsters who are playing their part this season: defender António Silva, from Benfica, and striker Vitinha, from SC Braga.
Five goalkeepers are shortlisted for the goal: Diogo Costa (FC Porto), Rui Patrício (Roma), José Sá (Wolverhampton), Rui Silva (Betis) and Anthony Lopes (Lyon). Of these, three will be in Qatar.
Then, on the wings: on the right, João Cancelo, Diogo Dalot, Nélson Semedo, Cedric Soares and Thierry Correia (Valencia).
Left: Nuno Mendes, Raphael Guerreiro and Mário Rui, but also Nuno Santos, from Sporting, and Nuno Tavares, from Marseille.
In the center of defence: Rúben Dias, António Silva (Benfica), Danilo, David Carmo, Fábio Cardoso and Pepe, from Porto. Also Diogo Leite (Union Berlin), Domingos Duarte (Getafe), Gonçalo Inácio (Sporting), as well as José Fonte and Tiago Djaló (Lile).
In midfield: Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Rúben Neves, Matheus Nunes, João Moutinho, João Palhinha, Fábio Carvalho (Liverpool) and Fábio Vieira (Arsenal), Renato Sanches, Vitinha (PSG), João Mário, Otávio, Florentino Luis, William Carvalho and Sergio Oliveira.
Up front, Cristiano Ronaldo is joined by Gonçalo Guedes, Daniel Podence, Ricardo Horta, Vitinha, Trincão (Sporting), João Félix (Atlético de Madrid), Jota (Celtic), Pote, Paulinho, Gonçalo Ramos, Rafael Leão, André Silva and Beto (Udinese).
The announcement of the call for the World Cup is scheduled for November 10, in the city of Soccer, four days before the deadline set by FIFA for the delivery of the final lists.
