Portuguese Ricardo Batista won the bronze medal at the Triathlon World Cup in Miyazaki, Japan on Saturday, seven seconds behind the winner, Italian Gianluca Pozzatti.

Ricardo Batista finished the swim, bike and run segments with a time of 53.17 minutes, seven seconds behind the Italian and one behind Spaniard Alberto González Garcia, who finished in second place.

“I am very happy with my result in the Miyazaki World Cup.
