The Portuguese roller hockey team thrashed Chile 7-1 on Wednesday, on the third day of the group stage, and won Group A of the 2022 World Cup, which takes place in San Juan, Argentina.
Telmo Pinto (two and 40 minutes), João Rodrigues (nine), João Souto (14), Gonçalo Alves (36, penalty), Diogo Rafael (43) and Henrique Magalhães (48) scored the Portuguese goals, while Felipe Márquez won for Chileans (24).
Portugal, who had beaten France (5-1) and tied with Italy (2-2), finished the group with seven points, against Italy’s five, France’s four and Chile’s none, scoring a match in the ‘quarters’ with the winner of Mozambique-Germany.
