The Portuguese Carlos Queiroz will return to Iran to command the national team until the end of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, the state news agency, IRNA, announced on Wednesday.
The negotiations between the Football Federation of Iran (FFIRI) and Queiroz “finally reached a conclusion” and “a contract was signed between the two parties”, can be read in the news, which adds that the Portuguese reaches Tehran in “weekend to start his career in the national team until the end of the Qatar 2022 World Cup”.
Iran’s soccer team, like Portugal, will compete in the World Cup finals in December as part of Group B, which also includes England, the United States and Wales.
