The Portuguese soccer team will carry out the second preparation training for the World Cup this Tuesday, in a session in which coach Fernando Santos will have all the players available on the pitch.
The training is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., at the Cidade do Futebol, in Oeiras, with the first 15 minutes open to journalists, and it is foreseeable that the 26 athletes called up for the 2022 World Cup will appear in full on the pitch, Contrary to what happened the day before.
On Monday, the day the work of the ‘quinas’ group began, Fernando Santos had 16 athletes, while the remaining 10 carried out recovery work and did not go up to the main lawn of the ‘house’ of the chosen pieces.
In this way, Diogo Costa, Nuno Mendes, Danilo Pereira, António Silva, Palhinha, João Mário, Bruno Fernandes, Ricardo Horta, Rafael Leão and Gonçalo Ramos are expected to increase the coach’s options in training.
Before the work session, a player to be designated will speak to the journalists at a press conference, starting at 10:00 am.
Until Wednesday, the team’s work will remain free, that is, the athletes will only have the obligation to show up at the Cidade do Futebol for training, having complete independence before and after them.
Portugal has scheduled a preparation match with Nigeria, led by José Peseiro, on Thursday, at 18:45, at the Estádio José Alvalade, in Lisbon.
On Friday, the Portuguese delegation will leave for Qatar, with its debut in Group H of the 2022 World Cup scheduled for November 24, against Ghana, before facing Uruguay, on the 28th, and South Korea, led by Paulo Bento, on December 2.
The 22nd edition of the World Cup starts on Sunday, with the duel between the host Qatar and Ecuador, for Group A, and ends on December 18.
