The Portuguese soccer team will leave this Friday for Qatar, to, between Sunday and December 18, play the 2022 World Cup, in which it was integrated into group H, with Uruguay, Ghana and South Korea.
The team led by Fernando Santos, who thrashed Nigeria 4-0 on Thursday, led by the Portuguese José Peseiro, leaves for Qatar with the hope of repeating the achievements of 2016, when they were proclaimed European champions, and 2019, when won the Nations Cup.
The 26 chosen by Fernando Santos and the rest of the entourage are scheduled to leave at 12:30 p.m., arriving in Doha at 11:00 p.m. local time (8:00 p.m. in Lisbon).
Portugal’s debut in Group H is scheduled for November 24, against Ghana, before facing Uruguay on November 28 and Paulo Bento’s South Korea on December 2.
The 22nd edition of the World Cup starts on Sunday, with the duel between the host Qatar and Ecuador, for group A, and ends on December 18.
