Six absent from Portugal’s first training session in Qatar

The Portuguese soccer team held its first training session in Qatar this Saturday, where the Portuguese team had 20 of the 26 squads on the pitch, with a view to its debut in the 2022 Soccer World Cup, against Ghana, on Thursday.

The defenders Diogo Dalot and António Silva, the midfielders William Carvalho and Otávio and the forwards João Félix and André Silva, all recovering in the gym, were not present on the field of the Treinos Al-Shahaniya SC Center, according to what could be seen during the first 15 minutes open to journalists.

The captain of the ‘quinas’ Cristiano Ronaldo, who had missed training on the eve of the victorious friendly with Nigeria (4-0) in Lisbon, as well as the game, due to stomach problems, exercised without limitations.

For the rest, the available group was divided into three for the usual warm-up exercises with the ball, while the goalkeepers worked next to one of the goals.

Portugal’s debut in Group H is scheduled for November 24, against Ghana, before facing Uruguay on November 28 and Paulo Bento’s South Korea on December 2.

The 22nd edition of the World Cup starts on Sunday, with the duel between the host Qatar and Ecuador, for group A, and ends on December 18.
