Fernando Santos will not be able to count on Danilo Pereira for the two matches of the group stage of the World Cup in Qatar. The Portuguese central defender is injured and therefore will not play this Monday’s match against Uruguay, nor the one against South Korea next Friday.
“International Danilo Pereira, after undergoing tests, was considered unavailable for work with the National Team by the Health and Performance Unit of the Portuguese Football Federation”, can be read in the brief note posted on the website of the FPF.

Otávio is also guaranteed out of Monday’s game due to physical problems. The left-back was left out of the win with Ghana (3-2) on Thursday, and since then he hasn’t played on the pitch.
The team from the corners will face Uruguay on Monday, at 10:00 p.m. (7:00 p.m.), and South Korea, led by Paulo Bento, on December 2, at 6:00 p.m. (3:00 p.m. ).
