The teams from the Netherlands and Senegal defeated Qatar and Ecuador respectively this afternoon and secured their place in the round of 16 of the World Cup in Qatar.
In the last two Group A games, the Dutch beat the already eliminated hosts 2-0, with goals from Gakpo and Frenkie de Jong, guaranteeing first place in the group, with seven points.
Senegal, for its part, beat Ecuador 2-1, with goals from Sarr and Koulibaly, who, after more than 60 games with his country’s national team, scored for the first time. Caicedo scored the South American goal, but did not prevent defeat.
With this result, Senegal is guaranteed six points and second place in the group.
Those classified for Group A now await the final classification of Group B, which will also be decided this Tuesday. For now, England lead with four points, followed by Iran with three, the United States with two and Wales with one.
