The French referee Stephanie Frappart will go down in football history when, this Thursday, she gives the initial whistle for Costa Rica-Germany in Group E of the World Cup.

International since 2009, Frappart had already been the fourth referee of the Mexico-Poland match in this tournament.
Before, she had already made history by being the first woman to referee a French league match, in 2019, the first to direct a European Super Cup, in the same year, and the first to command a Champions League match, in 2020.
