Croatia beats Canada, who bids farewell to the World Cup (with videos)

The Croatian national team won its first victory at this 2022 World Cup on Sunday. And soon with very striking figures: 4-1.

The Croatians even started to lose in the game, after Alphonso Davies scored the second-fastest goal ever in a World Cup with 2 minutes. It was also the first-ever Canadian goal in an edition of the competition.

However, two goals in 8 minutes from Andrej Kramaric (at 36′) and Marko Livaja (at 44′) confirmed the turnaround on the scoreboard.

Croatia’s dominance continued throughout the game and two more goals came in the second half, with Kramaric scoring twice in the 70th minute and already at the final whistle Lovro Majer closed the score at 4–1. With this result, Croatia has scored four goals in ten World Cup games since its last defeat.

For example, Canada – from Stephen Eustáquio, player of FC Porto, and Steven Vitória, from Chaves – joins Qatar and is the second team to be eliminated from this World Cup. Croatia now only leads the group with 4 points, one more than Belgium and Morocco.
