The French Football Federation (FFF) has made an official complaint to FIFA to change the final result of the 2022 World Cup meeting with Tunisia (1-0 defeat), a source from the organization told AFP on Thursday.
The French contest the goal canceled by Antoine Griezmann after 90+8 minutes, with the decision after the referee’s final whistle, for offside, following the video referee’s (VAR) indication.
The same source reports that France believes that the VAR was used “after the resumption of the match and after the end of the match”, in violation of the protocol for the use of technology.
Even if FIFA accepts the FFF’s claim, the Group D standings will remain unchanged, with France and Australia through and Tunisia and Denmark eliminated.
France will play against Poland and Australia against Argentina in the round of 16.
