Arsenal beat West Ham on Boxing Day to extend their lead in the Premier League

Arsenal received and defeated West Ham 3-1 this Monday in the 17th round of the English Football League, played on the traditional Boxing Day, and remained in the lead, seven points ahead of runners-up Newcastle.

Arsenal lead the Premier League by 40 points, followed by Newcastle, who beat Leicester City 3-0 today and are on 33 points but have one game in hand.

Manchester City are third with 32 points, but have only played 14 games.

West Ham, on the other hand, are 16th in the English league, with 14 points.
