The European Super League could become a reality in 2025, said FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta on Thursday, awaiting a favorable decision from European justice.
“We will receive the ruling of the European Court of Justice in March or April. If the resolution is favourable, I think the Superliga can continue in 2025,” said the manager in an interview with radio Cadena SER.
Proceedings against UEFA and FIFA, bodies that govern European and world football respectively, accused of abuse of power by threatening to expel clubs and footballers seeking to join the Superliga project, should decide earlier this year.

Launched in April 2021, bringing together several of Europe’s biggest clubs, the private and private league project collapsed in just 48 hours, despite widespread anger from the clubs’ own fans and various threats of political action.
