Rafa misses the cup match due to a sprained foot, five days before the derby against Sporting

Benfica player Rafa will miss Tuesday’s Portuguese Cup match against Varzim due to a sprained foot, the ‘incarnates’ revealed on their official page.

Five days before the derby against Sporting, of the 16th round of the I Liga, to be played at Estádio da Luz on Sunday, Rafa is a last-minute victim for Benfica for today’s match in Póvoa against Varzim, a team from the II Liga and which has already won against Sporting in this edition of the Cup.

In addition to Rafa, Croatian striker Petar Musa and Brazilian defender Gilberto will also be absent from today’s game, among the last 16 of the competition.

Also note the inclusion of Argentina’s midfielder Enzo Fernández, who missed the final game before the championship, after returning to the club late, having helped Argentina become world champions and being absent to ring in the new year in his homeland to celebrate, without permission from Benfica.
