Spaniard Jorge Ballesteros, shooting world champion, died on Wednesday at the age of 39.
The athlete was found in his car, in a shopping center in Madrid, injured in the head as a result of a gunshot, and was immediately transported to the hospital of La Paz, where he eventually died.
The news was confirmed by the Spanish Olympic Shooting Federation and police are now investigating the causes of the death of Ballesteros, who was also an agent of the Spanish national police, in addition to the shooter with the most titles in his country.
In addition to the world championship he won in 2017, Jorge Ballesteros also had three European championships, six Extreme Europe Open and 17 Spanish championships to his name.
