Al Nassr says Ronaldo contract does not imply Saudi candidacy for 2030 World Cup

Al Nassr clarified that Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract does not imply “any commitment to any candidacy” for the World Cup, referring to the 2030 contract launched by Saudi Arabia, Greece and Egypt.

Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo signed with Al Nassr on December 30 until 2025.

“Al Nassr FC would like to clarify that, contrary to the published news, Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr does not imply any obligations with any candidacy for the World Cup.. His main goal is Al Nassr and working with his teammates to help the club achieve success.”

According to various media reports, Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with the Saudi Arabian league club, the value of which has not been officially disclosed, would contain an additional €200 million to promote Saudi Arabia’s joint bid for the 2030 World Cup.

This bid, which should be led by Saudi Arabia and which will include Greece and Egypt, to host the 2030 World Cup, competes with Spain, Portugal and Ukraine and with the South American one, consisting of Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Paraguay .
