Wrestler Jamin Pugh, better known by his ring name Jay Briscoe, died Tuesday in a car accident in Laurel, Delaware.
According to the CNNciting WMDT, there was one more person killed in the accident in addition to the 38-year-old wrestler.
Jay Briscoe was one of the main stars of the North American promoter Ring of Honor (ROH), mainly due to the successful duo he formed with his brother Mark Briscoe. Together, the Briscoe Brothers have held the company’s tag team titles 12 times and have also had success in Impact Wrestling and New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
The news of Jay Briscoe’s death was brought out by ROH and All Elite Wrestling (AEW) owner Tony Khan. “Unfortunately, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was an ROH star for over 20 years, from the first game to today. Jay and brother Mark dominated ROH and reigned as champions to this day. We will do everything we can to support the family. Rest in peace, Jamin”wrote on Twitter.
