Denmark wins the Handball World Cup for the third time in a row

This Sunday, Denmark won the World Handball Championship for the third time in a row, after beating France 34-29 in the final, in a match played in Stockholm, Sweden.

The Danish team, which at half-time was already leading 16-15, consolidated the result in the second half and secured the victory with a five-goal advantage at the end, becoming the first to win the world title three times in a row.

Denmark, thus, returns to the top of the podium in the World Championship, after victories in 2019 and 2021, while France, current Olympic champion, remains with six world titles, being a record holder.

Spain, which beat Sweden 39-36, finished third in the World Cup.
