“It’s time to finish.” Roger Federer announces his retirement from professional tennis

As a farewell letter to all “his friends, opponents and, above all, the fans”, the Swiss athlete also mentioned that the Laver Cup will be the last ATP tournament he will play. Even so, he himself guarantees that he “will continue to play tennis”, but he will not do it in grand slams Or not ATP Circuit.

“This is a bittersweet decision, because I am going to miss everything that sport has given me,” he lamented.

“Of all the gifts that tennis has given me over the years, the greatest has undoubtedly been the people I have met,” he begins referring to the statement.

The Swiss acknowledges that the sport has treated him “even more generously” than he dreamed, but admits that you have to “recognize when the time has come to end” the race.
