The Serbian referee Srdjan Jovanovic will direct the Inter Milan-FC Porto

The Serbian Srdjan Jovanovic will referee the match between FC Porto and Inter Milan, in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League, in Italy, on Wednesday, the UEFA fair announced on Monday.

With this nomination, Jovanovic will take advantage of the three ‘big’ Portuguese this season, since in the group stage of the ‘Champions’ he led Sporting-Tottenham (2-0) and Benfica-Juventus (4-3), as well to participate in the victory of the ‘incarnated’ over Midtjylland (3-1), in the second leg of the second round of the ‘millionaire’ competition.

The 36-year-old referee’s resume includes five other European matches with Portuguese teams: Marítimo-Botev Plovdiv (2-0), from the 2017/18 Europa League third qualifying round, Benfica-Lech Poznan (4-0), of the Europa League 2020/21, Spartak Moscow-Benfica (0-2), of the third qualifying phase of the Champions League 2021/22, Borussia Dortmund-Sporting (1-0) and Sporting-Manchester City (0-5 ), both from the 2021/22 Champions League.

In the match between FC Porto and Inter Milan, Jovanovic will be assisted by Uros Stojkovic and Milan Mihajlovic, while the fourth official will be Novak Simovic.

The functions of video arbitration (VAR) will be in charge of the German Bastian Dankert.

FC Porto and Inter Milan will play on Wednesday, starting at 8:00 p.m., in the first leg of the Champions League round of 16, at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, in Milan.
