Sporting qualified this Tuesday for the first time for the semifinals of the UEFA Youth League in football, beating Liverpool, 1-0, in the quarterfinals.
In Alcochete, against the ‘executioner’ of FC Porto the previous day, Sporting secured qualification thanks to a goal from striker Rodrigo Ribeiro, on 65′.
Sporting, which could become the third Portuguese club to win the competition, after FC Porto (2018/19) and Benfica (2021/22), will face Dutch AZ Alkmaar or Spanish Real Madrid in the semifinals. They meet on Wednesday.
