This Tuesday, FC Porto let fly 10.6 million euros (ME), by not qualifying for the quarterfinals of the soccer Champions League, to close the 2022/23 edition of the competition above 61 ,2 ME.
The ‘dragons’ were left out of the top 8 of the main European club competition by drawing 0-0 against Inter Milan, after the 1-0 defeat at San Siro.
The formation that held the national title had direct entry to the group stage of the Champions League and immediately raised a fixed amount of ME 15.64, to which ME 23.887 was added for the 10-year ranking among the participants.
The four wins in the group stage, in the two matches against Bayer Leverkusen, in Bruges and at the reception against Atlético de Madrid, were worth another 11.2 ME, an amount to which 0.198 ME was added for the redistribution of the rest of the draws .
The ‘dragons’ finished Group B at the head and, with their qualification for the round of 16, added another 9.6 ME, for a total of 61,235 ME.
In the Portuguese ranking, FC Porto is not yet the leader, since Benfica, who qualified for the quarterfinals, beating Club Brugge (2-0 away and 5-1 at home), is already at 72,558 ME .
The ‘incarnated’, who started in the third round, received ME 38.38 for entering the group stage (ME 15.64 fixed and ME 22.74 variable, according to the ranking), ME 13.978 for the results (four victories , two equalities and the rest of draws), 9.6 ME for the ‘eighths’ and 10.6 ME for the ‘fourths’.
Clube da Luz can still grow its budget, if it reaches the semifinals (another 12.5 ME), the final (another 15.5 ME) or even reaches its third European title (another 4.5 ME).
For its part, Sporting, who missed the round of 16, ‘stopped’ at 35,136 ME, added to the 28,147 ME from entering the group stage, the 6.53 ME from the two draws and one loss, and the 0.459 ME of the rest of the day. the raffles
The national record is held by FC Porto since 2018/19, when the ‘dragons’ accumulated 79,208 ME, an amount that the ‘incarnated’ can surpass this season, if they reach the semifinals.
