Benfica’s former headquarters on Rua Jardim do Regedor in Lisbon will be replaced by a hotel.
“The Benfica Foundation and FLH Hotels of the Feelslikehome group today signed a partnership, allowing the building of the former headquarters of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, in Rua Jardim do Regedor, to be given new life. It is a historic building that was donated by the club to the Benfi Foundationca,” read a statement on the Incarnates’ website.
The aim, they explain, is “to guarantee sufficient assets for the fulfillment of its mission in Portugal and in the world”.
“The current project to transform the property into a hotel – 1904 Benfica Hotel – will ensure the reuse of this symbolic space with the concept of the history of Sport Lisboa e Benfica and will evoke the collective memory of the members and supporters of the club in reference to its former headquarters”refers to the note of the club.
“The lease contract linking the two institutions will also be a valuable contribution to the requalification of this area in the center of Lisbon,” added Benfica, without giving further details about the deal.
