Benfica beat SC Braga 3-1 this Saturday and won the Women’s Football League Cup.
Minho’s team still had the lead, thanks to a Caroline Kehrer goal, but Carole Costa, from the penalty spot, equalized at half-time. In the second half, the eagles prevailed and took home the cup thanks to two goals from Nycole Raysla.
It is Benfica’s third title in the League Cup in four editions, after having won the competition in 2019/2020 and 2020/2021. SC Braga was the other team to win the competition, in this case in 2021/2022.
