The Portuguese tennis player Pedro Sousa was eliminated this Tuesday in the first round of the Estoril Open, after losing to the Frenchman Luca Van Assche, in three sets, in his farewell to the Clube de Ténis do Estoril.
In his last participation in the only Portuguese tournament on the ATP circuit, Pedro Sousa, 475th in the world ranking, lost to the young Frenchman, 18 years old and 91st in the world, 6-7 (5-7), 6-3. and 6-1, in two hours and six minutes.
Sousa, who had not played in the main frame of the Estoril Open since 2019 and reached the second round in 2017 and 2018, had announced, during the qualifying phase, that this would be his last participation in the Portuguese tournament.
