Nuno Borges, the Portuguese number one, was eliminated this Tuesday in the first round of the Estoril Open, after losing to the French Quentin Halys, in two setsat the Estoril Tennis Club.
The maiato, 65th in the world ranking, was defeated by Halys, 80th, 6-3, 6-4, in one hour and 19 minutes, falling for the first time in the first round of the Estoril Open, after reaching the second round in the last two years.
Nuno Borges, who leaves João Sousa as the only Portuguese representative in singles, continues to compete in the couples draw, in which, together with Francisco Cabral, he defends the title won in 2022.
