The president of FC Porto, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa, confessed that he was “annoyed” with the players “because they only beat Benfica 2-1” at the Estádio da Luz, which he described as a “party room”.
Speaking to journalists in the mixed zone, the Porto manager left a message for his rivals when asked about FC Porto’s superiority in La Luz in recent seasons: “It’s our ballroom, as we say party in the game , but it was very good because Benfica is having a great season and has a great team”.

Even so, Pinto da Costa wanted to wish the eagles “congratulations in the Champions League”, even challenging them to “avenge the undeserved defeat” of FC Porto against Inter Milan, which eliminated the dragons from the competition.
“Today nobody doubts that we deserved the victory. (…) You can lose points in all the games. My concern is Santa Clara. It does not depend only on us,” he added.
Asked if he believed in the title, he only believed in “beating Santa Clara in the next game”, because any team “can lose points in every game”.
This Friday, FC Porto beat Benfica 2-1 at Estádio da Luz, with goals from Uribe and Taremi. Diogo Costa scored an own goal for Benfica.
