The Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui reached an agreement with FC Porto in court on Wednesday, after claiming compensation of 791,839.77 euros for his departure from the national soccer champion, whom he coached from 2014 to 2016.
A judicial source confirmed to the Portuguese agency the resolution of the process presented in September 2020 by the current coach of the English team from Wolverhampton, but without detailing the terms of the agreement established this morning between both parties at the Palace of Justice, in Porto.
At issue were the labor claims derived from the IRS settlements relating to the period in which Julen Lopetegui was linked to FC Porto, and the Tax Agency (AT) initially rejected his intention to benefit from a special tax regime.
The 56-year-old former Spain coach thus submitted to the general regime of the SRI, but understood that, given the new mandatory scenario, that amount or, at least, part of it, claimed by him in court should have been endorsed by the ‘ sad of the dragons.
