It’s official, Portugal lost 6th place in the UEFA ranking to the Netherlands, so in two years -in the 2024/2025 season- the Dutch Football League will have two teams directly in the group stage of League Two Champions and another in the 3rd. qualifying round.
In other words, there will be an exchange with Portugal, which falls to 7th place in the UEFA ranking. Portuguese football will only have two teams in the Champions League: the national champion will directly enter the group stage and the runner-up will have to play a 3rd qualifying phase.
The three remaining European places will be divided between the Europa League (two) and the Conference League (one).
