Coach Cristophe Galtier investigated for discrimination allegations

The French justice has opened an investigation into Christophe Galtier, the current soccer coach of Paris Saint-Germain, on suspicion of “racial and religious discrimination” when he was in charge of Nice, the city’s Public Ministry (MP) announced this Friday. .

According to Xavier Bonhomme, the investigations are being carried out by the police, with searches at the facilities of Nice, a club that Galtier led last season, before his transfer to PSG, which includes the Portuguese Danilo, Nuno Mendes, Renato Sanches and vitina.

On Tuesday, in a letter published by various media outlets, former Nice manager Julien Fournier accused Galtier of having directed discriminatory words at Nice footballers during the period in which he managed the club.

According to Fournier, the coach told him, among other things, that Nice “could not have so many blacks and Muslims” and expressed the desire to limit “the number of Muslim players to the minimum possible.”

Meanwhile, the current coach of Paris Saint-Germain, Christophe Galtier, rejected the accusations, revealing that he immediately turned to his lawyer “to initiate, without delay, the necessary legal procedures” to counter them.
