Australian cyclist Kaden Groves (BikeExchange-Jayco) won the 11th stage of the Vuelta a España this Wednesday, in which Belgian Remco Evenepoel (QuickStep-Alpha Vinyl) took the lead in the individual general classification.
Groves, 23, completed the 191.2 kilometers between Alhama de Murcia and Cabo de Gata in 5:03:14, beating Dutchman Danny van Poppel (BORA-hansgrohe), second, and Belgian Tim Merlier (Alpecin – Deceuninck), third .
In the general accounts, the podium places have not changed and Evenepoel continues with the red jersey, ahead of Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma), second at 2.41 minutes, and Spaniard Enric Mas (Movistar), third at 3.03 minutes.
The high mountain returns on Thursday with a 192.7-kilometer link between Salobreña and the climb to Peñas Blancas, in Estepona.
