The footballer Paulinho is back in training with Sporting, after a month’s absence due to injury, and worked integrated with the rest of the ‘leonine’ squad, the Alvalade club announced today on its official website.
The 30-year-old striker has been sidelined with a right foot problem since early April and has missed Ruben Amorim’s last seven games in all competitions.
Paulinho played for the last time exactly on April 1, in Alvalade, in the 3-0 victory over Santa Clara, for the championship, in a match in which the Portugal international scored a goal.
The former player of Gil Vicente and Sporting de Braga can thus return to the field on Sunday (8.30 pm), when the ‘leões’ travel to Mata Real to face Paços de Ferreira, in a duel of the 31st round of the i League.
Paulinho is enjoying his best season at the Alvalade club, with 15 goals and seven assists in 34 games in all competitions
During the same training, in Alcochete, coach Rúben Amorim called the young Diogo Pinto (goalkeeper), João Pereira (central defender) and Diogo Cabral (striker) to work.
Sporting will resume training in the gym on Friday morning.
