Benfica won the title of women’s football champion for the third time in a row this Sunday, beating Valadares Gaia 2-0, in a match on the 20th round of the championship.
Lúcia Alves (30 minutes) and Kika Nazareth (75) scored the goals against seventh place in the championship, leaving the ‘incarnated’ with 57 points, 12 more than Sporting de Braga, second, and Sporting, third, with a match less, when there are two rounds left in the competition.
The ‘eagles’ were proclaimed champions for the third time in the club’s history and equaled Gatões FC in third place in the ranking of winners, but they are still far from 1.º de Novembro (12) and Boavista (11), the two emblems with more titles.
