The Italian cyclist Jonathan Milan (Bahrain Victorious) made his debut this Sunday by winning in Grand Tours, by winning the second stage of the 106th Tour of Italy, in which the Belgian Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) kept the pink jersey.
The 22-year-old Italian was the best at the end of the 201 kilometers between Teramo and San Salvo, finishing the run in 04:55.11 hours, ahead of the Dutch David Dekker (Arkéa-Samsic) and the Australian Kaden Groves (Alpecin -Deceuninck ), respectively second and third at the helm of a peloton that was followed by both Evenepoel and the Portuguese João Almeida (UAE Emirates).
The long-distance world champion still wears the pink jersey and will start the third stage on Monday, a 216-kilometre route between Vasto and Melfi, with a 22-second advantage over the Italian Filippo Ganna (INEOS), second, and 29 over the Portuguese United Arab Emirates, which is third.
