Footballer Lionel Messi returned to training with Paris Saint-Germain on Monday, six days after being suspended by the club for traveling to Saudi Arabia without the French champion’s permission.
Leo Messi back in training this morninginformed the club on its account on the social network Twitter in a message accompanied by a photo of the Argentine player with the ball in training.
The club had opened disciplinary proceedings last Tuesday after Messi missed training the day before after the championship defeat to Lorient (3-1) and was seen in Saudi Arabia.
Argentina’s world champion player is said to have traveled to Saudi Arabia under a contract with that country’s tourism board and because he did not know, as he later justified, that training would take place last Monday.
“First of all I would like to apologize to my teammates and the club. I honestly thought we would get a day off after the game, as happened in recent weeks.”Messi said in a video posted to social media.
Messi, who is in his second season with Paris Saint-Germain and is at the end of his contract, should not remain linked to the French champion, according to the press.
PSG, which leads the championship with four rounds to go, has six points more than Lens over Portugal’s Nuno Mendes, Danilo Pereira, Renato Sanches and Vitinha.
