The three Estoril Praia fans accused of intolerance towards FC Porto fans are not allowed to enter the stadiums, due to incidents in the match between the two clubs for the I Football League, on September 16.
In a statement, the Authority for the Prevention and Combat of Violence in Sports (APCVD) reported today on the decision issued last week, on the case of insults to a man, with a child in his arms, both dressed in T-shirts of FC Porto. , who would have been spat on while they were in an area of the stands intended for the local fans.
“The three Estoril fans identified by the GNR, in relation to the incidents of the Estoril Praia-FC Porto match on September 16, are already prohibited from entering the sports venues. The suspects were notified by the PSP of the decision of the APCVD, which imposes a precautionary measure prohibiting access to sports venues, thus awaiting the conclusion of the respective administrative process of infraction”, reads the aforementioned note.
These three people can be sanctioned with fines of between 1,000 and 10,000 euros and with a penalty of prohibition of access to sports venues for up to two years.
After the incident that occurred at the Cascais venue, and according to APCVD, the father and the boy who wore the FC Porto shirt, victims of acts of intolerance, remained on the same bench, although with the need to move them a few meters. to protect their physical integrity.
Son and father continued like this with the shirt of their respective club, welcomed by the Estoril fans, who stood out and were outraged by the acts of intolerance that had occurred.
The next day, Estoril Praia regretted what had happened and condemned “any act of violence, whatever its nature.”
“We deeply regret the situation experienced by the daughter of the FC Porto fan at the António Coimbra da Mota Stadium, apologizing to her and hoping that she never stops appreciating the true essence of Sport. We condemn the attitudes of those who cannot control their emotions and allow the provocative attitudes of alleged soccer fans become an unfortunate moment of aggression that has no place in a soccer stadium, ”reads the Cascais shield statement.
Estoril Praia ended the note making itself available “to continue collaborating with the competent authorities in the search for adequate solutions that can prevent this type of episode from happening again in a sports venue.”
Earlier, the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, João Paulo Correia, and the president of the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP), Pedro Proença, had repudiated this incident.
This was the second time in the space of a week that both the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports and the president of the LPFP lamented incidents that occurred with fans in I League stadiums.
On September 10, a boy was forced to take off his Benfica shirt at the Famalicão stadium, since he was, along with his father, on a bench with a majority of local fans.
