The Tax Authority is conducting searches at the Estádio do Dragão, Alvalade and Luz as part of a case investigating a tax fraud scheme involving transfers of soccer players.
According to Correio da Manhã, raids were carried out at the home of soccer agent Alexandre Pinto da Costa, son of the president of FC Porto, and also at Torre das Antas, in Porto, as well as at the Gestifute company, owned by agent Jorge Mendes .
Jornal de Notícias adds that the stadiums of FC Porto, Sporting and Benfica were also attacked.
TSF discovered that FC Porto was the target of the searches, while Benfica and Sporting officially confirmed the news.
The process is directed by the Central Directorate of Investigation and Criminal Action (DCIAP) and on the ground there are elements of the Directorate of Fraud Investigation and Special Actions.
At stake are suspicions of tax evasion in player transfers, within the framework of the Fora de Jogo operation.
