Formula 1 announced on Friday the donation of one million euros to help communities affected by the flooding in Italy that led to the cancellation of the Emilia-Romagna grand prix, scheduled for Sunday in Imola.
The delivery of funds from the F1 Group, chaired by Stefano Domenicali, who is originally from Imola, is made to the Agency for Territorial Security and Civil Protection of Emilia-Romagna.

The F1 Group’s initiative follows that of the Ferrari team, closely linked to Imola, which had already donated one million euros.
In particular, the tragedy caused 13 confirmed deaths after all 14 rivers between Bologna and the northeastern coast of Italy, over a length of 115 kilometers, overflowed their beds and flooded everything around, after a day and a half of intense rain. in which rainfall was identical to the overall six-month average.
More than 4,000 people have been displaced in the region’s 24 municipalities and 50,000 Italians are still without electricity.
