Russian missile attacks against Ukraine carried out during the night of Friday, October 24 to Saturday, October 25, caused the death of three people, including a first responder, Ukrainian authorities announced.
“One rescuer died and another was injured after repeated missile fire against the community of Petropavlivska in the Dnipropetrovsk region,” in the center-east of the country, the Interior Ministry reported on social media.
In the same region, “a woman also died and seven people were injured,” the ministry said, explaining that “fire trucks, residential buildings and businesses were damaged.”
About 50 drones destroyed by the Ukrainian army
Moscow also attacked the capital kyiv, killing one person and wounding ten others, according to the head of the city’s military administration, Timur Tkachenko.
Around four in the morning, AFP journalists in kyiv heard the characteristic whistle of the missiles, as well as powerful detonations.
National emergency services have shared photographs of firefighters battling the flames, as large fires broke out in two districts of the capital, according to municipal sources.
That night, Russia fired “nine Iskander-M ballistic missiles” and “64 attack drones” and other types at Ukraine, according to the Ukrainian Air Force, which claims to have destroyed 50 drones and four missiles.
