She believes that women’s football does not have to follow the path of men to validate itself. Alicia Ferguson, aged 41, former captain of the Australia women’s national soccer team (aka “Matildas”) strives for gender equality among athletes in the sport, but fails to see the need to arouse passions often tainted with violence or even by salaries reaching shocking numbers. “What does an individual do with so much money?
