Fernando Pimenta and Teresa Portela win gold medal in K2 500 in Poznan

The Portuguese canoeists Fernando Pimenta and Teresa Portela won this Sunday the gold medal in the mixed K2 500 meter event of the second stage of the Canoeing World Cup, which takes place in Poznan, Poland.

Two weeks after taking bronze in the first stage, in Hungary, the Portuguese duo secured victory in 01.42.33 minutes, beating the Danes Gustav Bock and Julie Funch by 1.98 seconds, and the Ukrainians Oleksandr Zaitsev and Julie Funch by 2.41 seconds. Nataliia Dokiienko.

This is the third medal won by Portugal in Poznan, after Pimenta already got two silver medals, in K1 1,000 meters, on Saturday, and in K1 500 meters, today.
