Mauricio Pochettino is the new manager of Chelsea

Argentine Maurício Pochettino is back in England as Chelsea football coach after signing a two-year contract with an option, the English club announced on Monday.

Chelsea Football Club are pleased to confirm that Maurício Pochettino will coach the men’s team from the start of the 2023/24 season.say Londoners on their official page.

Pochettino, 51, has been without a club since June 2022, having been two seasons ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, winning a French League, a French Cup and a Super Cup, but with the club again failing in ‘Champions’.

Before that, the Argentine was nearly six seasons ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, from which he was sacked in November 2019 after being out for more than a year before joining PSG in January 2021, around mid-season.

“Mauritius’ experience, standards of excellence, leadership ability and character will serve Chelsea Football Club well as we move forward. He is a winning coach who has worked at the highest level.”refers to Chelsea this Monday.

In England, Pochettino will have us blues his third experience, having also coached Southampton in 2012/13 and 2013/14.

The next season will be a challenge for the London club, after the worst ranking in recent years, in 12th place, after constant changes of coach and already after the change of ownership, still in May 2022.

The England emblem, recently European champions in 2020/21, had a season to forget, despite the huge investment of more than €300 million in the winter market, which included the signing of Enzo Fernández from Benfica (121 ME).

The club had started the season with Thomas Tuchel, who left in September to make way for Graham Potter (Brighton), who made way for Frank Lampard in April, until the end of the season.
