Daniel Ramos, 52, was announced by the club led by Carlos Pinho one day after the announcement of the departure of coach Armando Evangelista, who led the Arouquenses in the last three seasons, with promotion to the I Liga and, this year , equaling the best position of the shield in the first division, with the fifth qualifying place for the Europa Conference League.

“From today I am very happy to represent Arouca. I knew that there was a great desire to bring me, which turned out to be a sign that they believe in me and in the work that my technique can develop here. President Carlos Pinho and Joel Pinho was a decisive factor in my decision. Now we have to work hard for everyone, together, to do the good job that this town deserves,” said the coach, speaking to the Serra de Freita shield.

The former midfielder for Rio Ave, Maia, Leça, Castêlo da Maia, Senhora da Hora, Beira-Mar, Marco and Vilanovense began his coaching career in 2001/02, at the Mafamude shield, in Vila Nova de Gaia.

In the two full seasons at the highest level, he led Santa Clara to sixth place, in 2020/21, and to the Europa Conference League, and Marítimo to seventh, in 2017/18, after having completed the previous one in the sixth place, and to the Europa League.

In 2021/22, he started the season with the Azorean team, who failed to reach the group stage of the Europa Conference League, leaving for “a great opportunity”, Al-Faisaly, in what was his first job abroad , having been left without a club since February 2022.
