The Polish Iga Swiatek, leader of the world tennis ranking, qualified this Thursday for the third round of Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam of the year, after defeating the American Claire Liu in straight sets.
Swiatek, who turned 22 this Wednesday, surpassed the number 102 player in the world with partial scores of 6-4 and 6-0, in a match that lasted one hour and 30 minutes.
The Polish tennis player, champion of Roland Garros in 2020 and 2022, will face the Chinese Xinyu Wang, 80th in the ranking, who reached this stage after defeating the Swedish Rebecca Peterson in the third round, also in straight sets.
