The state of health of the Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico “is progressing favourably” and his sedation has already been withdrawn, the hospital where the Paris Saint-Germain soccer player was admitted after a fall from a horse announced on Wednesday.

However, according to the clinical bulletin of the Hospital Virgen del Rocío, in Seville, the state of health of the soccer player, who remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), “continues to be serious.”

According to the hospital, where Sergio Rico has been hospitalized for 11 days, a new clinical bulletin will be issued on Friday.

Sergio Rico, 29, suffered a head injury after falling from his horse during the Romería festivities in El Rocío, a town in Andalusia.

The Sevilla natural goalkeeper, who after falling was stepped on the head by the horse, has been at the service of Paris Saint-Germain since 2019, but has been the second option for the Parisians’ goal, behind the Italian Gianluigi Donnarumma.
