Benfica beat Sporting 4-2 at home this Thursday, after extra time, in the first game of the final of the National Rink Hockey Championship, played in the best of five games.
The reds were leading 2-1 at halftime, but the visitors tied in the second half and forced extra time, in which Benfica was superior, advancing in the decision for the national title, which continues on Sunday, this time at Sporting home.
Benfica, who were last champions in 2015/16, can match the 24 titles held by record holder FC Porto, while Sporting seek their 10th title and third in six years, having last won in 2020/21.
