Celta de Vigo confirms the return of the Swiss Seferovic to Benfica

Celta de Vigo, led by the Portuguese coach Carlos Carvalhal, confirmed this Friday the return of Haris Seferovic to Benfica, after the Swiss footballer represented the Spanish club in 2022/23 on loan from the ‘eagles’.

The 31-year-old Swiss striker Haris Seferovic, who came to Luz in the 2017/18 season from the German club Eintracht Frankfurt, has a contract with Benfica until 2024 and his future is now in the hands of the ‘red’ board.

Celta de Vigo, who finished 13th in the Spanish League, with 43 points, 45 behind champion FC Barcelona, ​​also announced the return to their home clubs of striker Carles Pérez (Roma) and defender Óscar Rodríguez (Sevilla). .

After a ‘shy’ first season at Benfica, Seferovic won the title of top scorer in the I Liga in 2018/19, with 23 goals, a feat he was about to repeat in 2020/21, in which he finished second (22), after he lost space in the team.

In 2021/22, the Swiss striker played just 15 games with the ‘eagles’, scoring five goals. In 2022/23 he was on loan at Turkish Galatasaray (13 games and two goals) and later at Celta de Vigo (18 and three).
