The Disciplinary Council of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) will open disciplinary proceedings after several players from the Rio Ave women’s football team accused the former coach of harassing them with intimate messages.
“The FPF Disciplinary Council will open a disciplinary file. The disciplinary regulation, as mentioned in the Público article, has specific penalties for cases of harassment and the FPF has long had a complaint platform for these and other situations”, can be read in a note. Send to TSF.
Coach Miguel Afonso is no longer at Rio Ave and, despite several warnings from the players, he is now the coach of the Famalicão first team.
According to the Public newspaperthe president of Famalicão was alerted to the serious evidence of sexual harassment, but assured that the matter would be resolved after discussing the matter with those responsible for women’s football.
