End of applause. The VivaTech fair, which has been held in Paris since Wednesday, closed its doors this Saturday. With 2,400 startups and 20% more space, the fair hoped to attract even more visitors for its seventh edition, surpassing its record from last year, when 91,000 onlookers flocked to the Gate of Versailles.
It’s done: In a press release, the fair lists 150,000 visitors, “from 174 countries.”
Arrival of Elon Musk
This year, artificial intelligence was at the center of the topics covered on the VivaTech stages, an annual event dedicated to technological innovation and start-ups created in 2016. The 2023 edition was marked by the arrival of ‘Elon Musk , the head of Tesla, SpaceX and Twitter.
He held a conference of more than an hour in front of 4,000 people, speaking in particular about the difficulties of Twitter, the regulation of AI – which he described as “breakthrough power” – or even SpaceX.
The show also hosted Emmanuel Macron, who defended France’s potential in artificial intelligence and called on regulators to “work closely with the big players” in the sector.
